Thank you for choosing to study at Milner School of English. Please read the following useful information before you start your course:
Getting to Wimbledon: If you let us know in advance, Milner School is able to arrange a transfer from the airport to your homestay for £75 (£80 in 2011). Alternatively, you can follow these directions to help you get to Wimbledon:

Your First
Day: On your first day, you will need to come
to Milner School’s office on the first floor of
our building, at 8.45am, for your level
test. During July & August we are busier so you will need
to arrive at 8.30am. Classes start at 9.30am every weekday
(or 9.10am in July & August). Please bring:
- Passport-sized photo of yourself (to make your student ID card)
- Money for textbook (approximately £20)
- Your passport or ID card
- Papers confirming your enrolment
- Pen, pencil & paper
Paying For Your Course: Please pay on or before the first day of your course. Post us a bank draft or telegraphic transfer to our bank account.

You must pay all bank transfer charges. Advise Milner School of the telegraphic transfer by email, phone or fax immediately. To pay by credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD only), email, phone or fax your credit card details (card number, name and expiry date) to Milner School. You must add a 3% service charge when paying by credit card.
Refund Policy: In order to receive full course and accommodation refund, we require a minimum of 7 days notice, prior to the course starting date. After the course has started, tuition fees are non-refundable. Homestay fees are refundable if 2 weeks notice is given. No refund is given for non-homestay accommodation, Registration Fee and Accommodation Placement Fee. Cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.
Attendance Rules: You are expected to attend all of your lessons. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please call the school office. If you attend for less than 80% of your course, or if you miss 10 consecutive school days, you will not receive a Milner School Graduation Certificate and it may affect your Student Visa status. Students should be aware that attendance is recorded at the beginning of the school day.
Holidays: You can have a holiday or break in your course under the following conditions:
- You must tell the office 5 working days in advance.
- Course extensions will be given for holidays of one whole week or more.
- Holidays can only be whole weeks, from Monday to Friday.
- No refunds will be given for holidays taken – only course extensions.
- No extensions are given for national holidays or occasional days away.

If it is about the school, your payment, holidays, local information about Wimbledon or London, general administration or welfare matters, please speak to AMANDA KODAKA our REGISTRAR at Reception. If you are not satisfied, you may then speak to JULIA CLARKE the PRINCIPAL, at Reception. She can also help you with your homestay, other accommodation, general welfare matters or personal problems.
